Hi I’m KHARA,
& THIS is my STORY

We need our health and strength, not only physically AND mentally but soulfully! Is that a word? What do I mean by soulfully?

Who ARE you? What is your purpose? What are your gifts? What is your personal mission statement in life? This is soulfully.

The balance of life is created when all three aspects of physical, mental and soulful health and strength are being taken care of. You are taking good care of your physical body by exercising and eating right. You are taking care of your mental health by sleeping well, taking a break, reading, challenging your brain, doing something you’re good at, etc. In order to take care of the soulful aspect of health, it is important to do things that you enjoy. Activities you have a passion for. Hobbies you do that fulfill the deep desires of who you are. Loving your job can also be a healthy soulful aspect. If you love your job, you don’t work a day in your life. What are your dreams? What are your goals? What is your personal mission statement?

A personal mission statement defines your values, who you are and how you define success. A personal mission statement creates boundaries that make decision-making easier, as it’s easier to see whether your decisions align with your long-term goals.I know my purpose here. I have realized my personal mission statement.

I have a passion and a gift to inspire women, and men to create a life that is balanced, healthy, and fulflling.

It has taken awhile to get here. I have an innate understanding of the physical body and have been in awe of the capabilities the body has, for as long as I can remember. Wanting to know more and more about the physical aspects of the body. The brain, the joints, the heart, bones, etc. - and what part do they all play in our daily lives.

I started my journey by becoming a fitness instructor in 2008. I started teaching fitness classes at the YMCA. I have also taught for several other gyms. My home is the YMCA. We have the best community and support and I also love the mission of the YMCA- We are for Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. The YMCA is also inclusive and every one is welcome a the Y! I have been given so many opportunities to learn and grow as a leader, a woman, and a person at the Y. I am forever grateful. I am certified to teach many different formats, as well as personal training. I have been a mentor many times. I have studied, taken many courses, and studied some more. Wait…..there is more. I’d like to share my personal story of my health issues and what I have been through to get here. This is my journey that led me to understand what my personal mission statement is-

I have been married to my husband Jeremy for 21 years and we have 3 wonderful children together and I am lucky enough to have two bonus kids from his previous marriage. I love to laugh. I love to workout. I love music. There was a time in my life that I didn’t laugh, couldn’t workout, music didn’t help. I didn’t know why. This started just after I had our first child. Health issues started out slow and inconsistent. Progressively getting worse over time.

The one thing I did know was that I just didn’t feel good. I had symptoms of severe fatigue, migraines, food allergies, brain fog, pain in my body, words I wanted to say came out of my mouth all jumbled. As life got more stressful, my symptoms got worse. I endured through my pain and suffering. I wasn’t the kind of mother I really wanted to be.

I knew that some physical exercise was helping me. That was about all the energy I could muster for the entire day. Why? Why was this happening? I don’t go down without a fight. I became a certified fitness instructor during this time. I have a passion for fitness and helping people to live a healthy lifestyle. I just did what my body would allow. After about 8 years of progressively getting worse and feeling like I was dying a little more each day. I woke up. I wasn’t going to live like this anymore. I started taking action. I needed help. I went to a hormone specialist and was diagnosed with adrenal fatigue. I had an answer! Adrenal fatigue is inadequate levels of adrenal hormones.

Proponents of the adrenal fatigue diagnosis claim this is a mild form of adrenal insufficiency caused by chronic stress. The unproven theory behind adrenal fatigue is that your adrenal glands are unable to keep pace with the demands of perpetual fight-or-flight arousal. Adrenal insufficiency can cause persistent symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, low blood pressure, light headedness, body aches, brain fog, etc.

It's frustrating to have persistent symptoms. Going undiagnosed, or ignoring the symptoms can also cause depression or fibromyalgia.

There was hope. The specialist taught me how to heal myself naturally. It took a full year of changing a lot of habits and creating ones that would benefit me and my health. I learned how to manage my time and stress. I have been in remission for the past 9 years. I still have little flare ups but now I know how to find control. I am living my best life. You don’t have to continue living with the challenges you are facing.

There is hope. There is a way. I knew that I needed to help others. I was able to start teaching more formats. I love teaching group fitness. Fitness isn’t just physical. Fitness is so very important for our mental, emotional, and physical health. It’s about self love. Doing something good for oneself. We feel better and we do better.

About 5 years ago I heard the term health coach. In 2019 I decided I wanted to become a health coach. I am now a certified health coach. This is the next step in helping others with their health and fitness. This step fits directly in with what my personal mission statement is - I have a passion and a gift to inspire women, and men to create a life that is balanced, healthy, and fulflling.

If you feel like you need INSPIRATION, SUPPORT, or GUIDANCE please let me know. Do you want to lose weight? Do you need to manage your stress? Do you have questions where food is concerned? Do you want to sleep better? Do you want more energy?

I AM HERE TO HELP YOU. THIS IS MY PURPOSE IN LIFE!

You don’t have to continue living with the challenges you are facing.”
